For Cinnamon Apple Bubble Up Bake:
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 5 crisp apples (cored, peeled and sliced into 1/2 inc wedges)
  • 1 package cream cheese, cubed (8 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing (13 ounces)
For Homemade Icing:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons water (more if needed)

Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9X13-inch baking dish. In a skillet, melt butter. Add apples. Cook until softened and beginning to brown. Remove from heat. In a large microwavable bowl, heat cream cheese and powdered sugar uncovered for 1 minute, stirring every 30 seconds, until softened. Stir until smooth. Stir in milk. Then stir in apple mixture. Separate cinnamon roll dough into slices. Cut each roll into 4-6 pieces. Gently stir pieces into apple mixture. Pour into greased baking dish. Bake about 30 minutes or until bubbling around edges and dough is golden brown baked through. Let cool for 10 minutes. Spoon icing into a microwave bowl and heat for about 6 seconds or until mixture is thin enough to drizzle. More icing makes it better!
Recipe Notes

For Homemade Icing:

Combine one cup of powdered sugar and several tablespoons of water or more if needed to achieve consistency thin enough to drizzle over mixture. Serve warm.
