Ingredients
- 2 9 inch pie shells
- 1/4 cup butter, softened but not melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 6 large apples, peeled and sliced
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar, plus 2 tablespoons
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spread butter evenly on bottom and sides of 9-inch pie plate. Press pecans close together, rounded side down on the butter.. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over nuts and pat down. Lay the first pastry shell over brown sugar layer. Place apples in a large bowl and mix in lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, flour and salt. Spread apple mixture into pie plate and cover with second pastry shell. Sprinkle two tablespoons sugar over shell. Crimp edges of pastry and make one or two small slits to let steam out. Bake in preheated oven approximately 50 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and cool for about five minutes then place serving plate over top of pie and turn upside down so he pecans are on top. Remove pie tin or plate and enjoy!
